News:
08 August 2010 - Yet more writing... I am continuing the writing, and it continues to be very hard but I am heartened deeply by the support I have been getting from my tutor at university and everyone around me. I am working with renewed strength and I WILL get this done. In the mean time, as I have been saying, live work is limited, but what has been happening, for me, has been truly special. Being part of "Jet Moon's Speakeasy" was truly one of the most wonderful experiences... well ever. It was really amazing to be part of such a project. Jet Moon gathered a group of queer people, most who had never performed in their lives, listened to their stories, wrote them into scripts and directed their authors to a level where they could perform their own words on the stage. It was so FABULOUS! I feel a complete lack of eloquence in trying to describe the show. I think you really just had to be there. And I was lucky enough to see how it had developed. I really hope that there will be many more of these shows in the future. Stockholm Pride this year was also a highlight, with some fabulous shows at Pride House, wonderful DJing fun at Wish and a great show at Queer Allstars. Also at Pride, Bitte Andersson's new short film (a faux trailer for a film that sadly doesn't exist - though any inverstors feel free to get in touch and maybe you can make it happen after all) "Dyke Hard" showed daily in the park. I am in it very briefly and I am proud to say that it is a fabulous film, and you can see it in full here: Dyke Hard. More info will be coming soon on upcoming shows and releases. In the mean time enjoy your summer... imagine me tapping away at a computer indoors as you all run around in the sunshine I am sure.... sigh. :)
20 June 2010 - Still writing... As you may have noticed, I have lived up to my promise that there will be less activity here on the site and in my live appearances. I am sorry about that, but I have to say that the results in terms of writing have been broadly positive and I am on track to get the thesis done. It has been an up and down journey and I am sure there will be yet more of that before it is done, but the end is indeed in sight. And it is wonderful, and stressful, and scary and fabulous at the same time. It does mean that I will continue to be pretty much absent for a while with only a few exceptions for a little while longer. However, in the mean time, do keep checking the Live section for some appearances. I will be appearing in a short film by Bitte Andersson of Hallongrottan fame, to be premiered at this year's Stockholm Pride and showing every day on the Big Screens in Pride Park. I will also be doing some small bits at the festival throughout the week. There are some big plans for the coming end of the year and beyond so fear not, some great things are on the horizon and I will tell all as soon as I can. In the mean time, checkout some links of recent activities:
16 March 2010 - Quality over Quantity Those of you who check here regularly, and how I love you for it, will have noticed that there hasn't been too many updates or new event postings. This has mainly because I have been writing writing writing like a mad writing creature, as well as planning planning planning like a... well you get the picture. Sadly this has meant less time for the usual crazy fabulousness of shows here, there and everywhere - which I so LOVE to do (and will again), but it does mean that the end results of all this labour will be just that more fabulous. I promise... truly. Indeed, I am really really excited for what is to come (some BIG things) and I can't say too much about it now, but I will soon and hopefilly you will all be just as thrilled as I. Can I get more cryptic? Well perhaps... But in the mean time, do keep checking in. I promse to keep you updated more often and there will be a few bits popping up in the next couple weeks. Including some more The Lovers and Fighters Convention screenings and an appearance or two in a town near you.
22 December 2009 - End of the Year! So as the year draws to a close I have done my last show of 2009, which was a very cool night at Wotever in Stockholm at Högkvarteret. I am very much looking forward to more events with Wotever here in Stockholm and London in the new year. Announcements will soon follow about that. In the mean time, the first show of 2010 is likely to be Kabaretkväll 2: electric bugaloo... or rather Kabaretkväll: Moulin Rouge. The first time out earlier this month was an absolute blast so we bring you another night of vintage madness here in Stockholm.
In th mean time, I wish everyone happy holidays and a wonderful new year, and hope to see you very soon indeed in a venue, event, article and whatever else I can get myself into, near you.
31 October 2009 - Upcoming and Updates! Okay, so it is pretty clear to me that the site needs a major overhaul, but really who has the time. In the mean time though I have tried to update some of the sections with recent show stuff... scroll down them to the bottom for the new stuff. Recent changes to the cabaret and music sections to take into account recent shows like the fabulous Queertett show (GAWD i had a good time at that show) and the Parental Guidance shows Miss Jet and I have been doing recently. Speaking of which, if you are in London, don't miss us at GFest on the 19th of November. We will be previewing more of the work we are doing on Parental Guidance. Then the following week it is my absolute delight to be accompanying Dorian Wood's return to Bar Wotever in London. I shall be drumming along... and let me tell you I am very excited. And then more news on upcoming shows, and after that hopefully a new look website.
29 September 2009 - October News! Excited about shows that are coming in October... like this weekend I will be in Berlin performing at Wigstöckel with the fabulous Queer Beograd folks directed by Miss Jet Moon. I am really excited and honoured to be performing with this group. The show we did at Transfabulous in 2007 was one of the most amazing shows I have ever had the pleasure of being a part of. So hope to see you there! Then later in the month back in Stockholm it is my delight to once again be teaming up with the Maria Johansson and Conny Thimander, whom I had the great pleasure to perform alongside in Glada Änkan at the Folkoperan earlier this year. Whilst doing that show, Maria, Conny and I would perform a mini-singing-show in the interval. Well, we loved it so much we promised each other that we would do it again. And now we are! The first show will be at Wotever in Stockholm at Högkvarteret on the 24th October. We are now named "Queertett" and will be entertaining with song stylings and other fabulousness. I really am excited by the re-association and to be performing at Wotever, back here in Stockholm. Also if you are around and about in other countries there will be more screenings of The Lovers and Fighters Convention around the world this month (how wanky does that sound?... but it is true). Yay for October!
Stockholm Wotever Opera - Performing with Queertett 24 Oct.
25 August 2009 - Autumn is Here So summer is almost over it seems - if the Stockholm weather is anything to go by. Stockholm Pride was magnificent, some evidence can be found here. Also my own personal magical moment was had at my wedding - so expect some updates her soon about things like my name change ;). As you can imagine, therefore I have been a bit busy hence the lack of updates. But now I am back to the daily business and have updated the Live section with confirmed dates for the rest of the year. More news to come as it is confirmed. If you are in the US you can see The Lovers and Fighters Convention in Texas and Tennessee and I will be travelling around Europe a bit doing things here and there too. Wishing everyone a fabulous autumn and see you soon in a country near you!
04 July 2009 - Pride and Summer Update Summer is here, shockingly hot here in Stockholm Sweden, and that means festival season is upon us. Once again, I apologise for the lack of regular news. I am still putting together all the software on my new computer so having to update the site when I can. But will be up to speed again later this month I hope. In the mean time, there is plenty happening - including Visible: A Femmethology (see facebook group for events) and Femmes of Power (see facebook group for events) happenings, hopefully in a town near you soon. The Lovers and Fighters Convention is being pimped out globally so hopefully will soon have some fanatbulous news about upcoming screenings, also hopefully in a town near you. In the mean time though, still totally thrilled that the film will get not one, but TWO screenings at the world renowned Victoria & Albert Museum in November. I also direct your attention to the Live! section of the site where I have put up some Stockholm Pride dates and times. These will be updated with more dates and details in the middle of July when the full programme goes public. SO WATCH THIS SPACE! So excited about being at the festival again this year. All new stuff too! So shall be fabulous. Here are a few posters to whet your appetite...
Parental Guidance - A brand new show by Jet Moon, starring Jet Moon and Josephine Wilson, premiering at Stockholm Pride 2009
Tranny Olympics - Queer super club at Stockholm Pride 2009 where I will be performing
10 April 2009 - New Dates and more Lovers and Fighters
There are new dates up in the Live section including a reading and discussion with Ulrika Dahl on all things Femme at Hallongrottan. Also another highlight is the second screening of The Lovers and Fighters Convention at the Boston LGBT film festival. Sadly I can't be there but so happy that the film is already travelling. Check back here for more news on that and events soon. In the mean time, I'm writing and fixing my computer which has pretty much died :(.
02 April 2009 - Weekend in London and Brighton So it is going to be a crazy weekend in London and Brighton! Starting tonight! Sadly, Hilda has had to postpone her Wotever Sex show tonight, so she is being covered by the rest of the Wotever Sex performers in a crazy collection of bits and pieces from all of the show past and future alongside special guest Michael Twaits. Not to be missed, though sadly that is exactly what I must do. I couldn't change my flight,... but, have managed to arrange a "presence" there of another kind. So will be in there, in some way - you just have to be there to find out how. Tomorrow night is the premiere of The Lovers and Fighters Convention at The London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival (LLGFF) at the National Film Theatre in London. As previously reported here, tickets for the film have sold out. HOWEVER, there may be returns available from the ticket desk prior to the screening time, so if you want to go, get there early and see if you can't catch one of those last couple tickets.
Finally, as reported below, Miss Jet Moon and I will be performing selections from our two Wotever Sex shows, "Sex Education" and "Stone Femme Shoes" at Marly Wotever in Brighton. For those who missed the shows and those who didn't in equal measure... we never do anything the same way twice!
23 March 2009 - April fun and frolics in London, Brighton and Stockholm
(photo by AbsolutQueer Photography) Am excited to announce some upcoming bits for April! As mentioned before, we have the fabulous black-tie gala premiere of The Lovers and Fighters Convention on the 3rd of April at the London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival (LLGFF) at the National Film Theatre in London. Everyone is encouraged to dress FABULOUSLY and ticket-holders are in for an extra treat, as they are invited to the exclusive after-party full of shenanigans and more with with cast and crew. Tickets have sadly SOLD OUT some time ago, however, if you come to the ticket desk before the screening there is a chance to get returns. Good hunting! The very day after, due to popular demand, Miss Jet Moon and I have been asked to perform once some material (and perhaps other bits) from our recent shows "Wotever Sex" shows Sex Education and Stone Femme Shoes at Marly Wotever in Brighton. Be sure to come early as seats are limited and it promises to be an excellent night. Miss Jet and I are thrilled to be asked to present some of this material again, because we both truly loved putting on these shows and hope to put the on again sometime very soon in the future. Later in the month, I am delighted to now confirm, I will be appearing the Vagina Monologues being put on here in Stockholm at Debasser Medis. You can check out details of the show and the organisation behind it and the good works they are doing here at their blog. In the mean time though, you can see and hear me DJing this week at Wish here in Stockholm. It's my pleasure to have a chance to play some new music, as it's been a while since I was "on the decks". For full details, go to the Live section of this site. More news coming soon of dates in April and May, as I can confirm things. In the mean time, writing, writing, writing.
14 March 2009 - Stone Femme Shoes and the Future It was my honour and delight to perform alongside Miss Jet Moon this week in the premiere of her new show "Stone Femme Shoes". I am already looking forward to the things that we will be doing together in the future - more on that soon - and in the mean time hoping that we will both be able to do our "Wotever Sex" shows again sometime really soon. In the mean time I heartedly recommend that everyone go see the rest of the Wotever Sex series of shows that will be playing at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, every Thursday for the next month. The shows are unique, they are one-off, and they are NOT TO BE MISSED.
(photo by AbsolutQueer Photography) In other news, tickets are now sold out for The Lovers and Fighters Convention premiere at The London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival (LLGFF) 2009. For those still in need, you can try to get returns at the ticket desk just before the screening of the film. Wish you the very best of luck and hope to see you in there. Ticket holders should also be aware, they are also invited to the Gala Premiere Party held in the honour of the film. The event is Black Tie of course darlings - though of course being all queer and all, you may interpret as you wish, come look your most FABULOUS! I certainly will. Other events and shows are coming up in April and May, keep checking in here for further details coming soon.
06 March 2009 - Wotever Sex - One down, one to go! I have been completely blown away by the response to the show that I did last night. I have gotten so many beautiful and moving comments, I was truly in tears. I want to thank everyone who was there and everyone who made the show possible for giving me such a magical experience. Truly. I can't express that enough. Thank you especially to Ingo and Wotever for putting on the event, The RVT for supporting it, the tech and house-crew, the DJ, Mike (for your fabulous strumming), and especially to Miss Jet, who truly inspired the night with her support and her collaboration. The photos are up here and you can see a review on Gaytimes.com.
(photo by AbsolutQueer Photography) I am thrilled though that it doesn't stop there though! The Wotever Sex series is only one out of six shows in and next thursday it is Miss Jet's turn with Stone Femme Shoes. And I have the honour of guesting in the premiere of this fabulous new show. DO NOT MISS IT! I really hope we get to do these shows again sometime in the future, but truly who knows. And I think this is going to be yet another magical night.
22 February 2009 - The Lovers and Fighters Convention PREMIERES at the 23rd London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival
I am so so SO excited to announce - if you haven't heard yet - that the Lovers and Fighters Convention will be premiering, and not only that, but at the prestigious 23rd London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival (LLGFF) 2009. For those of you who don't know, this is a documentary directed by the delectable Mike Wyeld and produced by the delicious Tom O' Tottenham and starring the delightful Jet Moon, Ingo, Jason Barker, Dr Jane, Dr. Jane and also myself. It follows a night of performance at Transfabulous Festival that I had the honour of producing (The Genderqueer Playhouse). To see me and Jet Moon - both of us what appear in the film - scroll down a little further for info on our shows at The Royal Vauxhall Tavern in March. Also in website news - I have updated the Film and Cabaret and Performance Art sections with information about recent shows and productions.
13 February 2009 - Wotever Sex show - "Sex Education" and "Stone Femme Shoes" updated!
(Photo by Kit Isaac) I am really excited to announce the premiere of my new show Sex Education at The Royal Vauxhall Tavern in London for one night only on the 3rd of March! It is part of a show run called Wotever Sex, consisting of 6 brand spanking new shows focusing on sex, sexuality and gender by some truly fabulous queer performers. I am honoured to be given one whole night to do with as I will.... and I will! This is a brand new show in 4 acts, and I am very excited that I will be helped out by the magnificent Miss Jet Moon and perhaps a few other guest stars! Go to the Live section to pre-book your tickets and don't miss out on the Wotever Sex Season special offer - £25 for a pass that will get you into all 6 shows. In the mean time, you can check out the full details in the Live section of this site and you can check out the lovely photo and description of the show below (as well as some details of my guest starring role in Miss Jet Moon's show).
"Sex Education" is a series of scenes that charts Josephine's growing up and "learning about sex" and the lack of relevant sex education for gender queer people. Using a combination of spoken word, comedy, performance art, dance and music, she presents a series of "lectures" on subjects like: "Early Encounters of the Sexual Kind", "University: The Age of Experimentation", "Politics of Sexuality: Becoming a Master of Gender" and "Revelation and Revolution: Coming of Age" (Photo by Kit Isaac) I also have the honour of performing as a guest star the week after in Miss Jet Moon's Wotever Sex production Stone Femme Shoes.
Stone Femme Shoes: ‘What did I want to be when I grew up?
02 February 2009 - Pre-order Femmethology! You can pre-order copies of "Visible: A Femmethology" directly from the links below . My essay is in Vol. 1, but don't let that stop you getting both (they both look fabulous). 11 January 2009 - Glada Änkan thoughts and a new year starting with a Wotever Birthday So finally Glada Änkan is finished. It has been the most amazing experience and I am still glowing from it. This show has had such a personal impact on me and I have to express that a little bit here. I know that this show will inspire my work from now on. Speaking of which, it is a new and year and therefore, new work to be done. I am once again on a writing binge for the foreseeable future and so there is likely to be less chances to see me on stage this year. I am finally looking forward to completing my thesis :-D, so I am going to be very busy doing that. In the mean time though there are a few plans for other things in the coming year. If you scroll down you can see news of the upcoming Femmethology and the film The Lovers and Fighters Convention. Both are being released very soon and I am very excited too about some of the events that we are planning surrounding both. In the mean time, there are also plans for some pretty fabulous events (so watch this space!) and the first of which is MY BIRTHDAY! I am very happy to be celebrating once more at a Wotever event - at the launch of the new weekly Queer Complex. The event is open to everyone and is totally FREE! I hope to see you all there. I love celebrating my birthday with Wotever. It has always been the most beautiful of experiences. So looking forward to that and to 2009!

23 October 2008 - Glada änkan extended! I am really proud to announce that Glada änkan has had its run at the Folkoperan extended to January 3rd 2009. But book your tickets soon because whole nights and even weeks are selling out!
08 October 2008 - news and reviews and trailer views We're into our fourth week of Glada änkan at the Folkoperan theatre. I have very mixed feelings about "reviewing" but I am very happy to say that we got some very nice ones indeed. Here is a lovely press picture of yours truly from the Folkoperan website (click on the link for more pictures, video/sound clips, info and of course the reviews).
(Performing as "Josephine" - press photo by Markus Gårder)
Also for your viewing pleasure, the first official trailer for the upcoming film Lovers and Fighters Convention (based on the show "The Genderqueer Playhouse" that I produced in 2007 and we collectively filmed this year in London as well as restaging it in Stockholm - see below for details of how we did both). I am really excited for the film which is nearly finished now and the trailer looks amazing. Check it out here and keep checking in for more info on release dates etc.
16 September 2008 - More news and photos So it is now officially tomorrow that we premiere. News and media is coming thick and fast. Keep and eye on Swedish TV and news media today and tomorrow. In the mean time, please check out a report including an interview and lots of footage of yours truly here. There are some beautiful pictures, sounds and footage up at the Folkoperan website where you can also find details on how to book tickets. It's sooooooo exciting!
12 September 2008 - Operatic News and Events of Note Around the World. Okay, so we're in the last week of rehearsals and as one can imagine, all is crazy. I am really excited and really tired of course. Just thought I would make a few "news" related notes for those of you interested in following the opera and well, me in it, I guess. I am interviewed in this month's QX (you can read it online here), you can see a picture of me in an article about the opera in Tuesday's (9/9/2008) Dagens Nyheter (you can read the article here) and I was interviewed for SVT's ABC news programme yesterday (should air Monday, you can watch the programme online here). You can see me for a few seconds on a local TV4 news broadcast here. Rehearsals have been filmed for several shows too on SVT and TV4 amongst others so keep your eyes out or check for comprehensive list of the media on the opera here... and of course, if you want to see the whole thing, just book a ticket and come along! Details and booking can be found here. If you are not in Stockholm at the moment, you can see visual (and audio) reproductions of myself elsewhere. Femmes of Power is currently being launched in England and there are several events that you can attend and see yours truly projected on surfaces of all varieties (as well as see/hear the people behind and in the book speak and perform). Check out the Live! section for details of where and when. One such occasion where the book is being presented is the Queer in Europe conference where you can also see Mirror Mirror being shown as well as a Q and A with the director Zemirah Moffat. If you aren't in England and happen to be in Argentina, you can see Mirror Mirror at the Lesgaicinevox where it is in official competition. So plenty of opportunities to see yours truly all over the planet... how 21st Century!
20 August 2008 - Operatic Cavorting About Town Opera rehearsals are in full swing and all is very very exciting at the Folkoperan I must say in anticipation for the premiere of Glada änkan. In the mean time, you can whet your appetite with some operatic shenanigans happening in the run up. First up is a guest appearance at Salong Giraff this Friday in Vitabergen open air stage. Is going to be absolutely great and I really can't wait to show off "Josephine" for the first time alongside the other fabulous operatic performers in this great space and at the fabulous Salong Giraff. See the Live! section for full details and scroll down for more on the opera itself. Also I am interviewed in the upcoming QX magazine about the opera.
09 August 2008 - More Pride Reviewing and one-week into rehearsals More pride reviews are popping up here and there: Den Londonbaserade performancegruppen Wotever gav en bejublad föreställning på Boulevardteatern på torsdagskvällen. (from Darkside.se) And I have just finished the first week of rehearsals for the opera. I am shattered, but it went incredibly well. I think it is going to be a magnificent production and I am really excited. Or at least excited in a lying down and groaning a touch sort of way - but excited nonetheless!
07 August 2008 - Post-pride and Glada änkan Pride is over and it was nothing short of a magical experience in many many ways. The talks went fabulously and we had great audiences (you can see reviews here, here and here) and so did the Genderqueer Playhouse (photos on their way) and so was the fabulous Queer Allstars (photos, along with all out other Europride activities, by Jane, here). It was such a pleasure and honour to work with these amazing people and to show them off in my new home-town - see them here at Wotever. I want to say so much about these truly special people, but I fear I will just end up gushing fearfully and well, we wouldn't get anything else done for a while... Anyway... What's next? Well, I'm in an operetta is what's next! And it is very very exciting! I am absolutely thrilled to be in Glada änkan at the Folkoperan theatre here in Stockholm, directed by Suzanne Osten. We are currently rehearsing like mad for the premieres on the 17th and 18th of September. It really is a fabulous cast and a fabulous new look at this 100year old operetta. Really not to be missed if you are in town. I'll be the one playing "Josephine" ;-). Book tickets now here.
29 July 2008 - Europride and Happiness is a good review... So Pride has started here in the fair sunny city of Stockholm. And my, is it sunny. I really hoped that the weather would hold for Pride but heavens to betsy... and so forth. Irregardless of conditions, Pride started yesterday and like a new class starting a new school we all filed in to the large and now unfamiliar building to try and find out where all the classrooms and lessons were. It really is a HUGE affair, and one can get lost or over-whelmed if it weren't for the very incredibly warm atmosphere PrideHouse generates. I really feel welcomed and part of something there that is hard to define. PrideHouse seems to generate (at very regular intervals) moments that make you think "yes, this is what Pride is about". Anyway, back to ME. Sorry... this is why I always weird having a website, writing about "me" all the time. Makes me uncomfortable. But I soldier on... especially since is something good about me said by someone else. I had the pleasure of meeting Sara Lövestam yesterday (she writes a popular blog here in Sweden and is writing for QX everyday during Pride) and was thoroughly charmed. Also I was humbled by her liking some of the things that I had said during the talk I was part of today. And this morning woke up to see myself quoted on QX and was humbled yet further. So I thought I would share this with you and to remind all again who are in Stockholm that Pride is and will be a fabulous event I am sure and I can't wait to see you there. Scroll down for some commentary on what we are doing or see the Live! section of my website for a schedule of what we are up to at Pride.

"Samtalet om HBT och BDSM (som är ett samlingsbegrepp för bondage, disciplin, dominans/undergivenhet och sadomasochism) kom att handla mycket om exkluderande mekanismer – de där som gör att en accepterad grupp gärna distanserar sig från en inte-helt-så-accepterad grupp. Josephine Wilson illustrerade tanken:
26 July 2008 - Europride has started and HallonTV is out and about! I am so excited that Europride has started. There is so much happening, and so many friends will be here doing some amazing and fabulous things. It really isn't to be missed. 15 July 2008 - Genderqueer Fundraising Little bit of late breaking news for you... the wondrous peoples behind the Genderqueer Playhouse in it's many guises are holding a fantabulous fundraising bananza next week in order to raise money to finish the film that is currently in post-production. See the flyer below. I am so sad that I won't be there in person but we are working out the technology so that I can hopefully be there televisually. Those of you in London, I highly recommend that you attend because (a) it will be fabulous, (b) you will get a sneak preview of our Europride show and other wondrous entertainments besides and (c) you can help us make this film even more magnificent by sharing with us a few pennies of your pocketmoney if you can and want.
The fabulousness will be at Bar Wotever, at Central Station, 37 Wharfdale Road, King's Cross, N1 on Tuesday the 22nd July. Here's the blurb: "Come and be amazed, entertained and generous with your pocket money. Delights at this fun fair of fundraising frivolity include: Jason Barker treating you with the fruits of his ovaries... Jet Moon considering your options, but you may be heading for a spank... Ingo bear hugging you to orgasm... Dr Jane performing the reverse strip of legend... Claire McKenzie sings original soundtrack music... Chopin the incredible vogueing bear will be workin' it girlfriend... DJ Mikey will be providing the music that keeps us going and... Tom of Tottenham may sweetly serenade you... and Josephine will broadcast to you LIVE from Sweden! ++++ PLUS prizes to be won at the lucky or unlucky dip ++++ Entrance is FREE, so see you there!" Enjoy! And for those of you coming to Europride and want to see the show... tickets are now really going. We're only a couple of weeks away and they are flying out the virtual boutique. Please don't be disappointed and book now here!
08 July 2008 - Stockholm Europride amongst other things Summer is here (sort of) which means that it is festival time. Lots of different festivals happening of course but the next really fabulous one (and one you really DON'T want to miss) is Stockholm Europride. Regular readers of my site (i like to think i have some, maybe) will know that I am extremely excited about the unique performance of the Genderqueer Playhouse at Europride. I will not repeat myself (too much) so for more details, see below. However, I will reiterate again, if you are thinking of joining us for this one-off extravaganza, you must book as soon as possible. Tickets are going fast and there are very limited numbers. They can be booked online here. For a little taster, scroll down for a link to the official trailer. As if that wasn't enough, you can see us speaking on a range of related gender and sexuality topics throughout the festival and also at the magnificent return of the Queer Allstars clubnight (which made it's sell-out debut last year). Details for all of this can be found in the Live section of this here website and details of all our activities can be found on the Wotever site here. In other news I have just filmed my segment for the third episode of HallonTV which will air just before Europride on Swedish Kanal Lokal and online. Will post the date it premieres soon. Also I appear in Del Lagrace Volcano and Ulrika Dahl's new book Femmes of Power just is now out to buy in all good book shops and online. The book is getting launched at Stockholm Europride... so I guess you will just have to be there for all this and much more!
25 June 2008 - new Genderqueer Playhouse Trailer Just wanted to provide a link to the lovely trailer to wet your appetite for the lovely Genderqueer Playhouse show that will be at Stockholm Pride. More details below. I am reliably informed however, that tickets are selling very fast indeed, and you are very much encouraged to book ASAP HERE. In the mean time, enjoy the very pretty pictures and sounds of the official trailer to the show.
28 May 2008 - Genderqueer Playhouse, Stockholm Europride tickets on sale! A quick note to say that the tickets for the one-off performance of the The Genderqueer Playhouse show at the Boulevard Teatern as part of EuroPride Stockholm. This is the full-length show that I programmed for Transfabulous 2007, and filmed earlier this year for its very movie version. It features renowned international artists and activists: Ingo, Jet Moon, Jason Barker, Dr. J. , Tom of Tottenham, and me. As I mentioned below, this is an absolute MUST SEE! And in order to do so, you have to book your tickets as soon as possible, because tickets are limited. Book online HERE. If you need any more convincing here is the blurb and a lovely picture to wet the appetite.... Fresh from sold-out Transfabulous shows in London and being filmed for it's very own movie version, you will be blown... away... by this magnificent cast of renowned international cabaret-esque, burlesq-ish, gender-kaleidoscopic cabaret artists flown in especially to bring you this unparralled collection of genderqueer art. You will be educated by Bovis translating genderqueer terminology that could otherwise confuse and disorientate, whilst Officer Clarence polices our gender irregularities. Miss Jet will demonstrate, in her usual shy and retiring fashion, her own particular brand of queer femme-ininity. Before you can even begin to think about recovering, Tom and Josephine will be dazzling us with their fashion stylings, musical numbers and head-spinning dance routines. As if that wasn't enough, Ingo delivers queer-storytime and Jason drops everything including his socks.

09 May 2008 - Still still writing and Performance news And the writing continues. I am working on the next chapter on film and as anyone who has ever written like this will know it is always a rollercoaster. Some days you feel completely on top of it and other days you are upside and completely turned around (and probably also screaming too). But I carry on. In the mean time though I have some performance related news that you can find summarised in the Live! section. I have new dates for the UK and Sweden. I will be in London in June to perform at Transfabulous for Jet Moon's show "Border Fuckers" and will be in London again for Wotever's 5th birthday celebration. Both of which should be amazing experiences and not in any way to be missed. After that I will be performing and speaking at EuroPride in Stockholm - highlights include speaking at the Stadtsteatern and staging "The Genderqueer Playhouse" at Boulevard Teatern. There are limited tickets for the Genderqueer Playhouse gig - so BOOK IMMEDIATELY (details will be posted in Live! soon). Finally, I am now able to announce the exceptionally exciting news that I will be appearing in Suzanne Osten's new production of Franz Lehár's operetta "Glada änkan" (the Merry Widow in English or Die Lustige Witwe in the original German) at the Folkoperan, Stockholm. The character is tentatively called "Pixie", but that may change. Tickets are already on sale and can be booked online here. Book soon because tickets are going fast. I am so excited. The cast is so great and I already know the show is going to be amazing. Simply put - you HAVE to see it. I will post more news about it and links to rehearsal photos and videos soon. So watch this space!
04 March 2008 - Still writing with a little film break Wish everyone a happy new year.... errr... a few months late. But, hey! I have been busy. I am still on a writing break for the most part. As regular readers of my blog will know I am working on chapters for my PhD at the moment and that hasn't left much time for performing and other such things. However, as I mentioned below there are one or two things I will be doing during the year, and one of the most exciting is coming up in just two weeks. We're going to be filming "The Genderqueer Playhouse" formerly entitled "Pass, The Movie" (and who knows we might call it that again for the release). If you want to be part of the "live studio audience" then you have to let us know ASAP. There are limited tickets and we are assigning them on a first come first served basis. The details are as follows: THE GENDERQUEER PLAYHOUSE - once more with feeling.
03 December 2007 - On another writing break until 2008 I am on a writing break (and perhaps even a holiday at some point) now until at least January 2008. As I have intimated before though, there is exciting stuff afoot and in the planning phase. More news as soon as stuff is confirmed. In the mean time wish everyone happy holidays and queer new year :-).
I had an amazing time at the Regnbågsfestival in Malmo. The film showing went really well and the Wotever party was really something. The crowd were amazing and the atmosphere was electric. I met some old friends and made some new ones. I can't wait to go back. I really hope I can go back there to perform and work with the really great activists and artistsI met there. I am back to writing now so won't be performing again much before the new year... but lots of plans for 2008. Very exciting stuff on the way, and fingers crossed for something really BIG!
14 August 2007 - Happiness is a good review "Josephine Wilson bjöd på förtrollande performance" (Vilda Kvist, Göteborg Posten). This summer has been both hectic and wonderful. Transfabulous as I noted below was truly amazing and then I had another fantastic experience at this year's Stockholm Pride. I was really nervous as I was presenting a totally new show as the finale of the amazing Pride House this year and again at the packed out Queer Allstars night. I was especially nervous as I had just read a bad review (I say bad review, I mean s*&%ty blog by someone, from a performance earlier in the year and I was feeling a touch low about everything. Thanks to much support from friends, loved ones and dear Sofia (who put up with many neurotic freak-outs I had on the subject) I had a blast performing and was blown away by the lovely reaction. And joy of joys I read a lovely review of it in the Göteborg Posten. To sum, I shall try to stop reading anything written about me... and try not to take it to heart... and I had a great summer. Stockholm Pride is amazing, it really is something - so much going on over such a long period of time. The organisers work so damn hard and do an amazing job. Huge thank you again and again to them for asking me to come perform there. For the near future however, I am going to be taking that break that I mentioned last month. I won't be performing very much as I will be concentrating on completing my PhD thesis. I shall be about a little - plans are afoot for a few live shows before the year is out, so watch this space. As well as my inaugeral (as in first and hopefully not last she hopes) tv appearance. I will be on an episode of Sex Med Viktor, premiering September on swedish tv. Also there are film and filming plans afoot and hopefully lecture plans too... so watch this space.
24 June 2007 - Summer Festivals and taking a break Well, it has already been an insanely busy summer and the summer hasn't even really started. I have moved to a new country, I have performed at two festivals and I have a massive cold. It has been a magical time. Moving to sweden has been amazing though of course very busy. Performing and working with Transfabulous was unbelievably cool too. Got to meet and work with some of the best people around. Too many to mention, but Jet, Jason, Jane, Jessica (so many j's), Ingo, Thomas, Serge, Jay, Catherine, Kate Bornstein, James Green, Ignacio, and everyone who came. Met so many great people, including some people I have only read about, and some brand new ones from all over th place - from as far away as Manchester and Ireland to name but a few. Just wish my darling Sofia was there and the whole set would have been complete. All the coolest people there are in one place... well ok, except the people who couldn't make it. And those I haven't met yet. But nearly all the coolest people in the world in one place. I am now recovering from all that fabulousness... with a cold and a backache and will begin the end of my thesis. Yes, it is finally getting done. Hurrah and huzzah! That does mean however, I am taking a break from a lot of performing stuff for a while... but never fear, I shall return... bigger and better (we can only hope) soon. In the mean time, I will be performing at Stockholm Pride in August and there are plans and schemes afoot.... oh, yes there are. They include The Film "Pass" - the movie in London, and also perhaps a special Christmas type show here in Stockholm. So watch this space, and I am around promise... just more sort of hermitted away typing frantically, trying to finish my PhD.
13 May 2007 - Moving country! Yes, the time has finally come, I am heading northward bound. To those of you who don’t know (or don’t even know me), I am moving base from this here fair city to the lovely Stockholm of the north.
3 April 2007 - Diva Magazine interview and stuff coming up So the film festival is almost over and the fillms I am in have been screened very succesfully. It has been a very good though also little sad festival with absent friends. It has however been really good to see so many good friends there and there is lots of plans afoot. In the mean time, though Diva did an interview with me last month and it is out in their May issue - out 12th April. Other things going on April see live. More news soon on upcoming performances, lots of exciting events coming up.
7 March 2007 - Sadly not in Stockholm this weekend Sadly I am not in Stockholm this weekend (9 -11 March) for the Kultur Feminist Festival (as I think was advertised in some places) but I will be there in spirit and you can see me on film. Both Fem and Mirror Mirror are showing on the Saturday of the festival. I am not doing much live stuff at the moment. I am working on my thesis as well as putting together performances for the summer. I will be doing some short bits in April (doing another Agenda night and perhaps something else, watch this space) and maybe something at the end of this month (but not yet finalised). Otherwise if you want to see me perform live this month come to the Mirror Mirror screening at the Lesbian and Gay Film Festival. Miss File will be introducing the film and potentially asking/answering questions afterwards, who knows. I will also be speaking on the "transitioning and femme" panel following the screening of FtF: Female to Femme at the festival.
9 February 2007- Film news Lots of film stuff coming up with the London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival 2007 with us again in March. "Fem" has been completed and I will see it this weekend for the first time at a cast/crew screening. It will be premiered at the festival on the 31st of March. Mirror Mirror is also being shown but not sure when yet :-). And also I have just been asked to be on the "transitioning and femme" panel on the 1st of April. Looking forward to a exciting festival this year and hope to see lots of good films and meet up with lots of good people.
11 January 2007 - New live dates and Mirror Mirror screenings Lots of new dates up in live section for the new year. Especially lots of Mirror Mirror dates, check out clips and the new Myspace site here. Also hopefully coming up, a premiere of the Inge Blackman's new film, Fem. As well I will in fact be appearing in the flesh at some of these and also doing some live performances. Watch this space. Many a wondrous thing is afoot.
7 December 2006- Fem film in editting Just had an update from Inge Blackman about the film that was shot last year. She is beginning the edit which is very exciting. I really enjoyed being part of the film, and I can't wait to see the result. I know that it is going to be fabulous. Watch the website for updates or of course check back here!
13 October 2006- Site Update I have updated nearly every section of the site to some degree today so won't list each section other than to highlight the new details and photos up in the performances section and the new MP3s up in the music section. Otherwise it's just updating the details of the stuff that I am up to at the moment and how things have been progressing. I am on a bit of a performing break at the moment, getting into the rhythm of PhD writing but there are things coming up at the end of october and november. See below and live for details.
02 October 2006- Mirror Mirror screenings and the York Lesbian Arts Fest. If you missed the premiere of Mirror Mirror, there are more chances coming up in London in October (see the live section for more details). This is a really great film and I am really happy to be a part of it so do go see it! If you go to the Birkbeck one, there is a Q&A too, so go and chat with the fabulous Zem, who is the person what made it and all. At the end of the month, I am in York, speaking and performing at the York Lesbian Arts Festival. For the moment, that is my only live performance this month. Hope to see you there! Also have updated the Publications section with some of the papers that I have done recently etc. Will be putting up titles and links to material very soon.
30 August 2006- Stockholm Wotever Just wanted to make a special note about this one - as I think it is going to be a really great night and I hope all of you are able to come will do. The fabulous Ken Vegas is going to be performing for a start. He lives and promotes and performs in shows in the US, so this is quite a unique chance to see him perform. I too shall be performing on the eve, and I have been told that there might be even more international performance action happening that evening. In addition there is the lovely DJ AssLicka and possibly others to boot. And as if that wasn't enough, there's an early-bird discount (come before 11!) on the door price and 2 whole happy hours at the bar (9-11pm) with cheap liquor to lubricate yourselves with. Oh joy of joys! All of this happening on the fabulous Harley Davidson Boat. I am genuinely really excited about this night. I really enjoyed performing at Stockholm Pride (for new photos see my Cabaret performing page) and I can't wait to perform in this beautiful city again.
19 July 2006 - Stockholm Pride I will be performing and speaking at Stockholm Pride this year. It is the first week in August. My big day is Tuesday the 1st of August in the Pride House, but there is a slight possibility I might be doing other things. Check their website for details as I might not be able to update mah site while I am there - Stockholm Pride.
23 June 2006 - Do you want to see "Mirror Mirror"? Do you want to come see the documentary on gender and performance (focusing on 5 performers - including myself - and Club Wotever) that Zem has just finished? The premiere is on the 15th of July at 3 o'clock, same day as the Wotever Xtravaganza. It is in a small cinema in central London. It is invitation only and I am trying to get in touch with everyone I know about this, but if I have forgotten you.... I am so sorry, please let me know asap and will put you on the list.
9 June 2006 - New picture and update. New picture of me (as Daisy Dyke) up in the film section. Other than that as you can see from the live section, I have been pretty crazy busy with performances, lectures and such these last few weeks. It's going to quieten down a little in July (I hope), although there is going to be the massive Wotever Xtravaganza that I am compering and performing in, and at the end of the month Stockholm Pride starts and with a bit of luck I will be speaking and performing there too. In the mean time I am in a thesis writing frenzy - chapters coming out of my ears.
9 May 2006 - Lots of new pictures! New pictures on the cabaret, dance, and djing pages -pretty!
31 March 2006 - Still updating! I am still updating the site. Slowly slowly. Still putting pictures up and so forth, but have now updated the film, cabaret, dance, djing, links and soon the music section too. These will be updated with new material as it comes in and for those (at all) interested, I will let you know using this handy "news" bit to inform of changes. Will get there in the end!
01 March 2006 - New Website Design I have finally sorted out my new website design. Hope you like it. Still tinkering (as always) but this is pretty much it now. The last of the material will go online in the next week or two (like the gallery of images that I am using for the icons, the rest of the photos and also some MP3s from the Truly Kaput records I appear on).
